It's true -- if you've got $86 large to drop on what's basically a Lotus Elise you could get for $43 with a 40mpg Toyota motor.

Google guys, some ebay c-guy, etc, all are rumoured to have ordered one. The first 100 sold out, seemingly with a bunch of silicon valley types.

Vedy niiiice... how much?

I posted this in the other thread; might as well do it here also:
Has anyone studied these at all, and if so, what do this thing's rwhp numbers look like when the battery is full, as opposed to when it is nearing recharge time? i.e., how consistent is the performance over those 250 miles? This info is absent from the website as far as I can tell. Also, it appears to have a two speed transmission with no high gear; top speed of "a little over 130". Any car that can do 0-60 in 4 seconds should have at least one overdrive gear/top speed of well over 130, imo... seems like that would be easy enough to fix in the next generation of the vehicle. While they may be sold out for now, I think they will find that the only thing people dropping 80K on a performance car care about is performance. If it can't give an $80k vette/viper/911/etc a run for its money, I just don't think they will sell that many in the long run. That isn't to say that those same people don't want to own efficent/electric/whatever daily drivers. I'm just saying that they will need equal performance to compete in that narrow market if that is their goal. |

overlord your face off

But can it DORIFTTO?
prolly edit: erasing with a 2 speed gearshift HAS to shift the weight into a corner, just wonder if you could clear it without a clutch kick without changing the diffeintal /wapanese Last edited by LokiPunk : 08-30-2006 at 10:19 AM. |
