I *love* lenovos. The damn things last forever (at least the thinkpad lines do). In addition, if you ever need warranty work, there's a repair center on woodruff road, instead of having to mail it in to have it worked on like every other warranty. In addition, that basic 3-yr depot warranty is only like $80 instead of the $200+ that other places charge.

They're the only laptop I actually sell.

I've got a messenger/laptop bag from timbuk2.
They apparently make inserts for cameras. I forget which messenger bag I got (it's in car at the moment) but it has a compartment made of corduroy for laptop w/ foam on bottom if i drop the bag. Also, it's waterproof. Was ~70$ on amazon and worth it in my opinion.

I use one of these bad boys. It's not the prettiest bag or the most elegant, but it's indestructible and people will never know you're carrying around a bunch of expensive camera equipment.

Better Touch Tool is an an awesome app if you have a multi-touch Macbook. I use it to add a 3 tap gesture (for opening links in new tabs). It's got a Windows-7-esque window snapping feature too if you like that sort of thing. So far none of the window snapping apps really play well with multiple monitors though, so I stick to 2up for window tiling.
